HVAC Processes: Common Methods for Industrial Boiler Water Treatment

Industrial Boiler Water Treatment—Ex-Boiler Water Treatment: Before feedwater enters the boiler, water treatment equipment is used to remove impurities such as hardness, salts, and dissolved oxygen from the raw water, ensuring that the supply water meets national water quality standards. Commonly used water treatment equipment includes sodium-ion exchange softening systems, ion-exchange desalination units, reverse-osmosis water purification systems, and thermal deaeration equipment.
Industrial Boiler Water Treatment—In-Boiler Water Treatment: Chemical water treatment agents are introduced into the boiler along with the feedwater. Inside the boiler, these agents chemically react with impurities in the water and with the boiler’s metal components, thereby preventing or slowing down the corrosion of the boiler’s metal by waterborne impurities and inhibiting scale formation in the boiler.
Industrial boiler water treatment technology and its energy-saving applications are directly related to the safe and economical operation of boilers. Adopting proper and reasonable water treatment methods can prevent scaling and corrosion in boilers, extend their service life, reduce energy consumption, and enhance the economic benefits of enterprises.
